We look forward to hearing from you!
Meet the Youth Minister @ St. John of the Cross
Office: 905-821-1331 ext. 226
Ante Skoko was born in Oakville. He is a proud father and husband to his loving wife Roberta, who serves as the Youth Minister at St. Francis Xavier Church in Mississauga.
He graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and was working in that field until he answered God’s Call to radically leave that career behind and serve the Church in Youth Ministry. He joined the St. John of the Cross pastoral team in May of 2018 and is humbled and honored to mentor the youth, helping form young virtuous disciples and the future leaders in our Church.
He had a profound reversion to the Catholic Faith in the summer of 2011 and set forth with studies in Philosophy, Theology and Apologetics at the New Saint Thomas Institute and is continually diving deeper into his faith and evangelization efforts.
He has spent the 7 years before joining St. John of the Cross leading the youth and young adult ministry at his home parish Queen of Peace in Norval. He started the dynamic North American Croatian Catholic Youth movement with his former pastor; leadership which has now been passed on to the next generation.
He was a Trustee candidate in the 2014 and 2018 Municipal Elections for the Halton Catholic District School Board.
He has always been a builder... (Lego’s as a child), bridges and buildings as an engineer, homes as a real estate agent, bodies as a fitness coach, and most importantly and until his last breath; building God's Kingdom on Earth.
He encourages everyone to check our website, sjocym.com, regularly. It is the hub for all schedules, events, registrations, volunteer opportunities and updates regarding Youth Ministry at St. John of the Cross.
He warmly welcomes all calls to connect with the youth, young adults and parents in our vibrant Catholic community. Please email or call to set up an appointment to meet.
