What is a Parish Mission?

A Parish Mission is a time of grace and blessing as it is God visiting us. It is Jesus bringing the Good News of salvation, Forgiveness and Healing. It is an opportunity for all to respond to God’s boundless love through deeper conversion.

The Parish Mission is a time for the Holy Spirit to build bridges among us, reconcile us, and bind us together as God’s Holy People by faith, hope and love. The Parish Mission is also a time for the Christian Community to profess its life and unity through powerful celebrations of our renewed faith. It is a time to dream together about what we can become, and with God’s help, discover what our future together can be.  It is the Parish experiencing the blessings of a new evangelization.

Prayer for our Parish Mission

O Jesus, Savior of the World, we your people, thank you for the grace of our parish mission. Open our hearts to your Holy Word and to the works of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Lord, help us to keep our eyes fixed on the promises of eternal life, and to be open to the needs of our brothers and sisters. Only you can save us. Teach us the path that leads to You, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Bless the Missionary who will come among us. Grant our facilitator, the gift of the Holy Spirit. Into your hands, O blessed Mary, we entrust this Mission. Amen.

Recite the Our Father, Hail May and Glory Be.

OUR MISSION
CONTACT US

for the Youth of St. John of the Cross Parish:

To evangelize and form young disciples that strive to know, love and serve God and His Church.
That the youth act with virtue, fueled by the Sacraments and growing in daily personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Such that in their adulthood, they are confident and convicted in deep Catholic faith, so they may glorify and defend Our Lord in the public arena and inspire others just as the early Christians did under persecution, building the Kingdom.
